Definitely in the HORSE LATITUDES”.

Wind =like a mirror.  Seawater 25,4° Celsius. Barometer  1022.9 hPa.

At 14:00 yesterday the wind gave up completely, so we had to ask 1 of our yellow friends down below to help us out.
We are in the Horse latitudes or as you probably know it, the ”Azores High”
.

The story goes that the Spanish ships that exported the horse to the America’s sometimes came beset in these no wind areas when they were sailing west. Horses need a lot of water and after drifting for days with no progress to the port of destination they could calculate that they didn’t have enough water onboard to keep all the horses and the crew alive for the rest of the voyage. So they dumped horses over the side, to save the other horses and them selves from dying off thirst.

It’s just a sailors story…. how this area received her name.

We have 2 yellow caterpillars to save us from arriving too late, so we used one of them to keep on going.

The sea is like a mirror to the clouds and that gives really beautiful pastel coloured reflections.

We took also advantage of the situation to organize an afternoon swim to compensate for the engine noises.
We expect to find some SE-erly winds in the end of the day, lets hope they are strong enough to give us our sail-engines back.
