And so, in the end, on the last day of the year, we finally set course for Antarctica. We are on our way! And we are under sail! Already in the early evening of the first day, before even leaving the Beagle Channel behind us, we could turn of the engine. Almost all sails are up and wehave been making a good average speed, including both very fast stretches and very calm moments.

We sailed into the new year with a speed of about 0.5 knots, but just as we had taken away the courses, the wind started to pick up again and during the day we often reached 8-9 knots. We know things might change soon, but for now we enjoy the calm and steady conditions; all well!
