Right on Eight o'clock the call came, "whales to port".
Blue watch had just started and White watch had just finished. So suddenly I was surrounded on the helm by a large group of people gazing over the stern and port side as a pod of Pilot Whales came up from behind and cruised past the ship.
What a show they put on, right alongside. It was like they were saying "come on, this way, get a move along". As if that wasn't enough we were also able to spot Hourglass Dolphins swimming amongst the pod.
It is a special part of the Europa experience to be able to quietly share the ocean with these magnificent creatures.
