Science has helped us in many occasions to develop and expand our capabilities in our modern society.
This is the story as told to me on 6th April 2015 by a local guide called Stan on my visit to Tristan da Cunha whilst sailing on Bark Europa from South Georgia to Cape Town.
Red watch was “on watch” at midnight on the First of April. As I stood peering into the moonlight (on look-out) a new sound interrupted my thoughts emanating from the Deckhouse. Laughter!
I started sailing the weekend after my mom died. I was seven years old.
Today we start our journey in the steps of the man Sir Ernest Shackleton himself.
So we say goodbye to Antarctica. To its pristine dark blue waters, black rocks and blinding white snow and once again set sail towards our new goal – South Georgia.
